Job Description

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, seeks an experienced, energetic, and results-oriented Development Director to support the implementation and lead all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising program annually in support of school operations. As a key member of Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's leadership team, the Director of Development is an important representative of parents, alumni, donors, and the greater community.

This position reports directly to the Headmaster and has optional office hours with the ability to work remotely as needed. The
responsibilities of the position will be adjusted to accommodate the current part-time nature of the role. This position overtime could develop into a full-time position, but would be 20-24 hours a week to start. Candidates must be willing and able to take the Oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising program. This includes maintaining and enhancing established annual fundraising and major gifts campaigns, planned giving programs, and corporate and foundation grant proposals.
- Oversee all aspects of the school's annual fundraising Gala, which includes event budgeting. Work closely with the Gala volunteers, including board, parents, students, and staff.
- Help create materials and publications to market the school, communicate with various stakeholders, and broaden the base of exposure for the school.
- Develop a program to solicit major benefactors, foster increased support from existing donors, and maintain key relationships in the community.
- Identify new and creative sources of funding.
- Generate gift acknowledgments and maintain giving records of donors.
- Develop and execute a plan to increase alumni support and involvement.
- Create monthly reports for the Board of Directors to keep them informed of the fund-raising activities and progress towards goals.

Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic
Minimum two years of previous professional experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience using donor management software; outstanding computer and technical skills
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure
Bachelor's degree suggested but not required

Compensation & Benefits:
Part time salary $30,000 - $40,000. Offered salary is based on internal equity, market data, applicant's skills and relevant experience, degrees and certifications.
Full-time positions receive a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, retirement plans, and sick leave.
Part-time positions receive sick leave and a 403(b) voluntary retirement plan.
