Desired Start Date: As soon as practical.

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays - 7:45a.m.-12:30p.m. or 12:15p.m. - 5:00p.m.

Benefits: Part time employees earn discretionary time off and may receive holiday pay (depending on work schedule).

Job Description:

Summary: Must always maintain an understanding and appreciation of the philosophy and Mission Statement of the Franciscan Retreat Center. Responsible for guest interface during weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for reporting any events/emergencies to the Director or on-call individual
Responsible for taking payments for items purchased through the gift shop/making change
Responsible for guest check-out as well as responding to any guest needs
Responsible for preparing coffee for morning/afternoon coffee services
Responsible for taking down coffee service in morning/afternoon
Responsible for running mugs through dishwasher
Responsible for cleaning kitchen and making sure coffee pots are cleaned
Responsible for trashing out of meeting rooms at appropriate times
Responsible for tidying up the restrooms - trashing out
Responsible for restocking hand towels and toilet paper in restrooms
Responsible for cleaning up any leftovers from meeting rooms after groups leave
Responsible for changing water dispensers when empty
Other miscellaneous duties may be required as needed with regard to turn around

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be dependable, flexible, and self[-motivated.

Education:

High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
One to three months related experience and/or training
Or equivalent combination of experience and education

Language:

Ability to read and understand/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

Ability to write routine reports

Ability to communicate effectively with groups of guests or employees of the organization

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense with an understanding to carry out details of written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problem solving involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear; taste or smell.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee may need to lift/ carry or move 25-50 pounds when replacing water bottles on dispensers.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
