Youth Minister

Job Description

This position is for a high-energy person with who is faith-filled, enthusiastic, creative, with a collaborative spirit and excited about being Catholic and becoming part of our parish. We are looking for an individual with a passion for the Catholic faith who will provide spiritually uplifting leadership to our middle and high school ministries along with our volunteers and Youth Minister. Our goal is to lead teens to Christ; we seek someone who can help lead teens on that journey.

Position Responsibilities:
• Direct the Confirmation and Religious Education programs for grades 7-12,
• Oversee the Youth Ministry program of the parish,
• Administer fundraising programs,
• Plan retreats, mission trips, service projects and other ministry programs with the collaboration of the Youth Minister and volunteers.
• Work closely with the Director of Religious Education grades 1-6 and supervise the Youth Minister.

Qualifications:
• Must be a practicing Catholic committed to living a life consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• The ideal applicant will have a unique combination of energy, maturity, a passion for introducing teens to a Christ-centered life.
• Have outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; a solid leader, a self-starter, who will have a collaborative spirit, and a sense of humor.
• Praise and Worship musical experience helpful but not necessary.
• Technological proficiency and a strong knowledge of social media best practices and trends are required.
• Experience using Life Teen and Edge resources and principles is a plus.
• Degree in Ministry, Catholic Studies, Theology and/or have at least two years of experience in a leadership capacity with teenagers in a parish setting.

Compensation and Benefits:
Full-time position with flexible schedule requiring evenings and weekends. This position is salaried, commensurate with education and experience.
