Job Description

Office of Evangelization and Parish Life, located at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center in Miami Shores, Florida, has an opening for a full-time Coordinator of Evangelization who will be responsible for supporting the activities of this office, namely: Evangelization, Adult Faith Formation, Leadership Development, and Special Events. The coordinator will support the mission of the Office by leading event planning efforts, creating and developing registration forms and processes, and providing support for the parishes who are involved in the various programs that the office conducts. The Coordinator of Evangelization will perform all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. This position will require occasional evening and weekend hours.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include:
Collaborates with the Director and Manager, to research and provide most relevant Evangelization resources for the ADOM.
In collaboration with the Director and Manager, assists parishes in the development and continued growth of an effective plan for evangelization based on the current model of Outreach, Evangelization, Discipleship, and Mission process.
Collaborates with the other ministries on the Secretariat team in various activities for the ministries of the New Evangelization.

Event planning and communication:
Helps coordinate events for Evangelization and Parish Life in the languages of the ADOM. This event planning includes but is not limited to: securing a location for the event, creating registration processes, ordering food, managing hospitality, obtaining translation services if necessary, and helping parishes troubleshoot any difficult areas.
Maintains the Evangelization website, including developing appropriate resources and archiving of newsletters.
Maintains online presence of Evangelization through media outlets including, but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and blogging efforts.

Adult Faith Formation:
In collaboration with the Manager, researches and provides the most relevant Adult Faith Formation resources for the Archdiocese in forming "Parish Missionary Disciples".
Helps develop multiple train-the-trainer delivery systems for Adult Faith Formation to equip our parishes to reach people in various stages of faith development within their parish.
Advocates for Adult Faith Formation in parishes with thorough communication strategies.
Develops strategies to assess the faith formation needs of diverse adult groups in the Archdiocese and provides information on ways to meet their formation needs. Utilizes the data for design and development of programs.

Additional Responsibilities:
Presents at workshops and teaches others in a train-the-trainer model of ministry replication.
Builds and maintains good relationships with church personnel in the parish, including employees, volunteers in ministry, etc.
Supports parishes and lay apostolic movements by developing, scheduling and/or facilitating workshops and retreats.
Contributes to the Archdiocesan blog, the ADOM Web site, and other media as assigned.
Works with staff and team members to evaluate and plan programs.
Assists with the process of researching and booking speakers, including all necessary paperwork, airfare, hotel and other travel arrangements.
Develops effective marketing campaigns for office workshops, retreats, classes and other offerings. Writes press releases, event postings and other materials for information in media and intranet, updating periodically and according to need.
Demonstrates characteristics and qualities desired of a Roman Catholic lay leader, including excellent character, confidentiality and discretion, demonstrating excellent internal and external customer service, integrity, and support of the teachings and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Miami. Demonstrates fidelity and support of Church leadership.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum: Undergraduate Degree in Theology, Religious Studies or Ministry, or in Communications or Marketing with formal studies in the Catholic Faith. Knowledge of Roman Catholic Theology, Tradition and Ecclesiology is required; 3 years' professional work experience in Catholic Church, or Marketing and Communications.
Preferred: Dual Degrees in Theological Studies and Communications or Marketing. Knowledge of Roman Catholic Theology, Tradition and Ecclesiology is required; 5 years' professional work experience in Catholic Church, or Marketing and Communications.
Experience at the diocesan level is a plus.
Strong oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Oral and written Spanish-language skills preferred.
Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Proficiency in Constant Contact, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Sensitivity in marketing to the people of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time.
Demonstrated comfort in multi-cultural setting required.
Must have a professional demeanor.
