The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Priesthood Vocations Awarenes. This position assiststhe diocesan director of vocations in the ministry of promotinga culture of priestly vocations awareness through collaboration with clergy, vocation committees, diocesan departments, parishes, schools, and religious communities. The coordinator will oversee the seminary application process and continue to support and nurture seminarians during their formation. The individual will provide outreach and be a visible presence in the recruitment of those seeking the priesthood. Administrate work, minor clerical and office work is required.
Candidates will be a practicing active catholic member of a parish faith community who adheres to the teachings and traditions of the church. The individual must be able to demonstrate a commitment to the value of priesthood, priestly celibacy, religious life and lay ministry in the church. Bachelors degree in theology, religious education or related field. Prefer person who is experienced in diocesan or parish level ministry. Candidates will have excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills with the ability to use a personal computer. Travel and occasional weekend and evening work is required.
