Position Available: Capital Campaign Manager/Major Gifts Officer -- SG15
Department: Advancement
Hours: Monday-Friday - 8:30 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m., evenings and weekends. Travel as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Vice President of Advancement in the implementation and management of the capital campaign. In concert with the Vice President of Advancement, manage the day to day operations of the capital campaign, ensuring that campaign strategies are executed in a timely and effective manner; maintain a comprehensive campaign calendar; assign prospects for cultivation and solicitation to appropriate staff and volunteers; assist in the management of campaign volunteers; prepare written materials including general and specific campaign case statements as required. Provide strategic guidance and consultation to Vice President and Director of Development, regarding prospective major gift donors. Develop or participate in a system of prospect identification and evaluation. Create personalized, written proposals for presentation to major donors. Manage a personal portfolio of major donor prospects, implementing timely and appropriate strategies for cultivation and solicitation. Other job-related duties as assigned. This position includes extensive travel. Reports to the Director of Development.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a bachelor's degree required. Five or more years of successful fundraising experience, including meaningful capital campaign experience, desired. Ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts prospects, with a track record of closing gifts. Demonstrated competence in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups; excellent organizational and planning skills; exceptional written communications skills and the ability to prepare proposals, reports, and correspondence as necessary. Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University.
