JOB DETAILS
This Independent Contractor will provide desktop, laptop and server support for a variety of technical issues in a small college / preparatory school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Computer, printer, and antivirus management; ensure computers have latest updates.
- Record & resolve Work Orders assigned in Track-It ticket system. Adhere to issue escalation path and defined escalation procedures.
- Install and configure software applications, including operating systems.
- Maintain and administer servers.
- Install and configure printers; drivers, scan to email, network file sharing.
- Provide on call support in emergencies / weekends.
- Data recovery; Backup & restore user data
- Hardware Support; troubleshoot device driver issue's, desktop & laptop malfunction including hard drive, lcd, etc. Report issues with Lenovo and follow through with repairs under warranty.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge & experience with Microsoft OS & MS Office applications including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 Server, Groove, Office 2003 / 2007)
- Extensive knowledge & experience with hardware; configuring desktops, laptops & printers. (experience with Lenovo/IBM/Dell products a plus)
- Extensive knowledge & experience working with LAN, VPN and dialup fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Good problem solving skills. Able to prioritize work under pressure and complete assigned tasks in an accurate, timely and professional manner.
- 1 Year experience in technical support field.
