Job Description

SUMMARY

The Manager of Development & Marketing will plan, direct, and execute the marketing and development programs of St Edward Catholic Church and School. Responsible for the creation and publication of the church and school's communications, advertising, promotion, and development content. Responsible for the Church and School communication and launch of marketing events and programs, as well as major development initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the growth of the church and school.
2. Lead the formation and execution of development initiatives for both the church and school to include Annual Fund, planned giving, alumni relations, and other fund-raising events.
3. Create and maintain the look, layout, and features of the website for the church and school. Duties would include writing and editing content, designing webpage layout, determining technical requirements, and updating the website.
4. Enrich the position and image of the church and school through defining and executing planned marketing and branding initiatives.
5. Creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements (print and electronic) and other marketing materials.
6. Oversee the marketing budget for the church and school.
7. Support the church and school office staff as needed.
8. Create and publish weekly communications for both the church and school such as the bulletin, Express, and Principals letter.
9. All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

-Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or communications
-3-7 years in direct marketing, communications, or development
-Working knowledge and professional experience in developing marketing programs for churches and schools. (preferred)
-Experience in planning and executing development plans for a non-profit organization (preferred)

OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English with clear, impactful, and relative content.
2. Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize work, meet strict deadlines, and balance commitments.
3. Knowledge of fundamentals of design imaging, basic web design, animation, multimedia design, and editing for video and audio.
4. Ability to quickly learn new computer skills as needed including but not limited to design programs, databases, basic web site design, and social media platforms.
5. Strong artistic and creative abilities in addition to technical skills. Enthusiasm, drive, and ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
6. Highly ethical and ability to maintain confidential information.
