Job Summary/Background
As part of the Hispanic Outreach unit, the Hispanic Outreach Multimedia Editor/Coordinator will serve as the coordinator of Spanish language correspondence required to increase donor awareness and understanding of CRS' mission and activities. The person hired for this position will assist in the development and implementation of a general Hispanic Outreach editorial calendar for all outreach materials and will ensure interface and consistency with the general agency publications editorial calendar. A dynamic, confident, organized, deadline driven Hispanic Outreach Multimedia Editor/ Coordinator will manage the written content of the new CRS Spanish language website (www.crsespanol.org) and family of micro sites, and email newsletters developed by the Web/ Multimedia team. Individual will work with the Web Unit and the Senior Advisor for Hispanic Outreach to prioritize content from crs.org site and develop into culturally relevant pieces for the Spanish site. The Spanish language site launched on July 11, 2008. Position will also provide support for other fundraising and marketing initiatives such as annual giving direct mail campaigns focusing on: thanking donors for their gifts to CRS, reporting on programs supported by contributions, and soliciting donors for new gifts to the agency. Working closely with the Fund Development and Marketing writing staff, the Hispanic Outreach Multimedia Editor Coordinator will collect, write and edit copy, proofread, check facts, and organize print and electronic communications to help ensure the efficient flow of accurate and compelling content, and consistent use of grammar, style and voice. Some interviewing and researching will also be expected. Ideas for new content and new ways of highlighting it utilizing the unique visual elements of the web are encouraged.
Working Environment: Job duties and responsibilities will be performed in a normal office environment at CRS headquarters in Baltimore.

Job Responsibilities
1. Review and edit Spanish language content for fundraising and marketing departments, ensuring accuracy and appropriate/consistent style.
2. Produce copy for documents, including annual report, newsletters, brochures, direct mail appeals, letters, video scripts and clips as well as presentations and reports.
3. Participate in planning content, layout, and strategy for special publications related to campaign activities.
4. Attend meetings and work collaboratively with Fundraising Support, Marketing and Communications, U.S. Operations, and the Overseas Support Department
5. Review current content on crs.org site and prioritize content for the new crsespanol.org site in Spanish.
6. Collect, research, write, edit and update web content, working within established processes to help ensure the efficient flow of accurate and compelling content, and appropriate/consistent grammar, style and message.
7. Acquire approval from the appropriate HQ or field staff for all content posted on the site.
8. Assist in development of Spanish language blog for crespanol.org site.
9. Research and write or edit articles/interviews for the Website and other promotional materials as needed.
10. Develop Spanish language content for social networking and e-philanthropy initiatives
11. Monitor web pages on a monthly basis. Remove outdated content. Contact the appropriate HQ/field staff for updates on pages if necessary.
12. Collaborate across agency as needed to gather and review information
13. Assist in other writing and publications across Charitable Giving and Awareness Division as needed

Personal Skills
1. Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish and English
2. Strong understanding of US Hispanic market and Hispanic culture, influences and traditions
3. Working knowledge of non-profit fundraising a plus
4. Strong decision making skills/ ability to involve others in decisions
5. Excellent and proven knowledge of writing for the Web or news media
6. Excellent and proven editing skills
7. Excellent project management skills
8. Good understanding of international relief and development work a plus
9. Excellent and proven verbal communication skills; ability to speak confidently in front of a group
10. Ability to establish and manage diverse levels of relationships
11. Creativity
12. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines
13. Strong organizational skills a must
14. General understanding of the Catholic Church

Qualifications
1. Three to five years of proven experience writing, editing or managing documents and information for electronic publication in both English and Spanish
2. Demonstrated writing, editing and grammatical skills (writing samples required)
3. Must be a self-starting team player able to meet competing and demanding deadlines on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
4. Bachelor's degree required; degree in English or Spanish, Communications, Journalism, International Relations/Communications preferred
5. Current working knowledge of the Internet, the World Wide Web and the protocol for web writing
6. Knowledge of HTML and familiarity with content management/development programs a must
7. Familiarity with Dreamweaver a plus

MINIMUM Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
MINIMUM Experience Required: 3 years
Foreign Language Required: Spanish
