Job Description:
The Facilities Manager at Spiritus Sanctus Academy is responsible for maintaining the school buildings and grounds. The Facilities Manager persons and supervises the tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, safety, custodial, and event coordination. This position requires a team-player attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to details and project coordination. The Facilities Manager has a clear understanding of and upholds acceptable business practices in relationship to Church teachings. The Facilities Manager has the ability to collaborate with and support the Dominican Sisters, school administration, faculty, staff and school families.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Manages and performs all work related to the maintenance of school buildings, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial and security of the school.
2. Maintains equipment on school grounds by closely monitoring equipment and completing necessary testing as required. Also maintains accurate records of all maintenance repairs. Performs repairs as needed.
3. Oversees and provides custodial needs of the school.
4. Oversees and provides event coordination. Ensures proper scheduling of set up and take down for meetings, events, games, and otherwise, as directed.
5. Keeps buildings safe by making sure they meet building code requirements.
6. Works with the Principal and designated team members to report problems, solutions, and costs associated. Provides a weekly status update on any pending project.
7. Supervises all school groundskeepers, maintenance and custodial employees.
8. Promotes a positive team attitude with employees and volunteers.
9. Develops, oversees and may assist teams of volunteers providing school maintenance services such as cleaning, painting, landscaping, etc.
10. Supervise contractors and vendors as they relate to maintenance.
11. Develops and maintains a relationship with all contractors and vendors ensuring efficient facility operations.
12. Implement procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destruction of hazardous materials. Maintain school MSDS system.
13. Works with the Principal to manage annual facility budget.
14. May assist in key distribution as requested by management.
15. Maintains school wide inventory list and reviews list at least annually.
16. Assists school IT department when a change needs to be made requiring a change to facilities.
17. Regularly inspects school properties for areas of concern including playground and wooded areas.
18. Ensures compliance and implementation of policies as they relate to school facilities.
19. Provide general carpentry on school properties as needed.
20. Provides snow removal, lawn service, and landscaping, as needed.
21. Attends staff meetings as needed and adheres to school policies.
22. Serves as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work.
23. Other duties as assigned.
