St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish in College Station, TX is seeking an experienced Director of High School Youth Ministry. Responsibilities would include: Oversight of religion and social activities for 9th through 12th grades, organize and oversee Confirmation program for 9th graders, Coordinate Bible Studies, Catechesis, retreats, service projects, and fundraisers, contact ministry, and assist with Faith Formation as a member of the Faith Formation team. This person will have proficiency in administration, good people skills in working with 9th through 12th graders and parents, and good team work skills.
College Station, home of Texas A&M University, is a very fast growing community. Our parish is 25 years old with over 1400 families and more than 900 children and teens in our religious education program. Parishioner average age is 30. St. Thomas Aquinas is a very active parish with over 60 different ministries.

Youth Minister--High School
Ministry Responsibilities
- Oversee the 9th-12th grade religion and social activities program
- Organize and implement total youth ministry as laid out by Renewing the Vision.
- Organize and oversee the Confirmation program for students in 9th grade
- Assist in planning the Confirmation liturgy
- Coordinate Bible Studies (Focal Point), Men's & Women's Group, STAY Sunday Evening Catechesis, and other events involved in Dynamic Youth Ministry.
- Coordination of retreats, service projects, fundraisers, and social activities for students in 9th-12th grade
- Do contact ministry with youth in grades 9th-12th
- Evaluate the knowledge and training of 9th-12th grade catechists and core team and provide catechist training and faith formation
- Integrate family life teachings into faith formation program, particularly for children ages 9th-12th grade and their parents
- Assist with Faith Formation program as a member of the Faith Formation team.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Work in cooperation with pastor and parish business administrator, other staff, parish councils and committees
- Collect paperwork regarding Confirmation and submit completed packets to Ana for documentation
- Attend all parish staff meetings
- Attend Faith Formation staff meetings
- Actively represent parish faith formation program at deanery and diocesan events
- Monitor drop-offs/pick-ups of students at all youth events.
- Assist in catechist and core team recruitment for 9th-12th grades.
- Coordinate adult volunteer teams for 9th-12th grade
- Help with Faith Formation registration tasks
- Write bulletin and priest announcements regarding high school activities and communicate with families using mailings, emails and phone calls
- Assist in ordering books and supplies for 9th-12th grades
- Oversee budgeting for Youth Ministry program
- Meet regularly with Youth Board, Core Team, and Parent Advisory teams
- Attend monthly Faith Formation Committee meetings
Special Events
- Assist with shopping for special events
- Assist with special family events, such as Meet the Catechist/Faith Formation Kickoff, Festival of Saints, St. Nicholas Day, Blessing of the Animals, etc.
- Assist with catechist appreciation dinner and end of the year catechist recognition
- Assist with Faith Formation fundraisers (e.g., Aquinas-fest, Golf Tournament)
- Assist with Vacation Bible School
