St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish in College Station, TX is seeking an experienced Director of Stewardship and Development. The Director is responsible for working with the parish community to build and sustain a strong bond of support, fostering an environment of faithful Stewardship, as well as the development of resources and financial contributions in accordance with the mission of the parish and the mission of the Diocese of Austin.

This person will have proficiency in financial development, marketing, communications and development of a widely inclusive volunteer program. Duties include annual stewardship programs and campaigns, special purpose and planned giving initiatives, volunteer recruitment, training and placement of ministry leaders and volunteers, as well as publishing a monthly parish newsletter and other publications. Excellent computer and people skills are necessary. Must be a self-motivated, idea driven, team player. This is a salaried position with benefits.

College Station, home of Texas A&M University, is a very fast growing community. Our parish is 25 years old with over 1300 families and more than 900 children and teens in our religious education program. Parishioner average age is 30. St. Thomas Aquinas is a very active parish with over 60 different ministries.

The director will be expected to be involved in coordination of strategic long-range planning for the parish. He/she will coordinate volunteer activities and report directly to the pastor. Director of Stewardship and Development

Detailed Job Description:

The Director of Stewardship and Development has the primary responsibility of working with the parishioners and staff of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in building a community based on the principles of Stewardship that are in accordance with the mission of this parish and the mission of the Diocese of Austin. The director is responsible for developing both current resources and new resources as the parish continues to grow. These efforts will include planned giving initiatives, capital campaigns, and other financial contribution programs. In addition, the director will work to improve marketing efforts, publications, and external communications in order to build relationships between the parish and the community.

The specific responsibilities of the Director of Stewardship and Development Include:

Parish Volunteer / Ministry Coordination:
- Recruitment and training of volunteers
- Recruitment and training of ministry leaders
- Providing continuing education opportunities for lay ministers and ministry leaders
- Overseeing and assisting in organizing the annual Ministry Fair
- Working with the Stewardship Committee to improve Stewardship efforts in the parish in terms of time, talent, and treasure

Marketing / Communications:
- Maintain the parish website with up-to-date and accurate information
- Assist in the publication of the Pastor's weekly email to all parishioners
- Publish the monthly parish newsletter
- Improve marketing efforts within the community
- Foster communication between parish staff and the various councils and ministries

Development Work:
- Coordination of strategic long-range planning for the parish
- Organize and execute capital campaigns as deemed necessary
- Organize various fund raising events as needed
- Developing programs of planned giving initiatives and increased financial contributions

The Director of Stewardship and Development will report directly to the pastor. He/she will work in conjunction with the pastoral council, finance council, and stewardship committee.
