Job Description

The Director of Development and Communications, working in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, is responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive strategies to secure funding for the operations and capital projects for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Adventure Camp & Retreat Center (OLMC). This position demands a dynamic individual with a proven track record in fundraising, marketing, and event management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Represent OLMC with current and potential donors, events, churches, businesses, and other organizations throughout the city.
• Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising plan to enhance philanthropic support for the organization.
• Have a good understanding and the ability to provide oversight and input into marketing and communications to drive increased giving.
• Maintain a portfolio of major and planned gift prospects, ensuring regular communication with prospects and volunteers.
• Conduct face-to-face visits with prospects and donors to strengthen relationships and secure support.
• Gather data, assess prospects, and formulate strategies to maximize the potential of individual prospects.
• Identify and qualify new major and planned gift prospects through strategic planning and execution.
• Articulate a compelling case for supporting key programs and projects, aligning donor interests with the Mission's needs.
• Lead grant research efforts, identifying potential funding sources, and oversee the grant application and writing process.
• Collaborate with the Building Committee and Facilities Manager on upgrades and capital improvements.
• Work closely with the Treasurer to present monthly financial reports to the Board, demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
• Strengthen relationships within the Pittsburgh Diocese.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Adventure Camp & Retreat Center (OLMC), a part of Dry Bones Ministries (DBM), is a Catholic Adventure Summer Camp and Retreat Center in Volant, PA.
