St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Elementary Principal Job Description
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Elementary School, located in Richmond, in East Central Indiana is seeking a principal effective with the 2024-2025 academic school year. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is a parish school consisting of a diverse community of learners with a student population of approximately 200. The school consists of two campuses one mile apart, with grades preschool through second grade in one building and grades three through six in the other. We serve students primarily from Richmond and the surrounding area of Wayne County Indiana. Being within 60 to 90 minutes distance from Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton, and just 2 hours away from Columbus Ohio which makes it close to 4 International Airports. Our Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish enjoys having 3 beautiful churches each of which is attached to the respective 3 school buildings. Our Seton school operates under the pastor principal model. As the administrative head, the principal has the chief responsibility for the operations of the school. This involves following the policies and guidelines established by the office of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Acting as the primary representative to stakeholders including parents, parish community, and the community at large
• Reinforcing and building upon our strong academic program and Catholic identity through faith-based leadership, professional development, and a commitment to excellence
• Overseeing the budget and operations of the school in conjunction with the pastor
• Advance the mission of the school: We are centered in Christ and led by His Spirit. At Seton Catholic Schools we teach and accompany our students on their journey to become disciples of Christ through virtues, academic excellence, service; all for truth in love.
• Collaborating with the pastor, Seton Catholic High School principal, and School Commission, to provide a unified pre-K through 12 Catholic education experience
To be considered for this position, a candidate must:
• Be a practicing Catholic in good standing
• Possess exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Be organized and structured, balancing the requirements of two facilities
• Exhibit a passion for student achievement and academic excellence
• Be skilled at hiring, training, and retaining teachers and staff, with a passion for building and developing an appropriate curriculum, shared goals, and team work
• Be present for most preschool and afterschool activities and events
• Possess a valid administrators license or equivalent recognition
