Coordinator of Formation for Teens

Job Description

St. Maximilian Kolbe Pastorate, located just north of Madison, WI, is seeking a full time Coordinator of Formation for Teens. The enthusiastic priest team and staff are committed to growing a community of missionary disciples who take their Catholic faith and sacramental life seriously. The Pastorate is searching for the perfect person to join the formation team to spearhead efforts for our middle and high school teens. Applicants must be well formed, practicing Catholics who are faithful to the Church and her teachings, committed to a regular prayer life, passionate about the formation of young people, and desire to deeply invest in families. Ideal candidates would have relevant experience in religious education, youth ministry, or summer camps along with excellent people skills, a willingness to grow, proficiency in technology, and excitement to work on a team to build up the kingdom. This staff member would work alongside the formation team out of the parish office at St. John the Baptist in Waunakee. The start date would be June 1, 2024, with some flexibility for the right candidate.

The Coordinator of Formation for Teens will:
- communicate clearly and enthusiastically the vision for formation of teens throughout the parish and the integration of sacramental preparation as part of that vision.
- foster relationships with teens and their families throughout the parish, engaging in the community and events within and outside of the parish.
- in coordination with the Faith Formation staff, recruit a team of individuals to help with Middle School and High School formation throughout the parish.

Primary Tasks include:
- collaborating on Family of Faith.
- running weekly high school discipleship formation.
- running monthly middle school youth groups.
- preparing teens for the sacrament of Confirmation.
- spending time in the Pastorate's Catholic Schools with middle school teens.
- taking teens on Love Begins Here mission trips.
- coordinating retreats and pilgrimages.
