QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in accounting or finance is required. Knowledge of school finance/budget and tuition assistance preferred. Proficiency with MS Office including Access, Excel or other spreadsheet software required. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Candidate must have strong organizational skills, demonstrated qualities of initiative and leadership, and the willingness to work as a team member. Must also be able to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools and will manage the Archdiocesan Tuition Assistance Program and interface with other tuition assistance programs. Prepares and manages the overall budget process for the Catholic Schools Office. Will perform research/analysis and work with the Superintendent and Director of Research to guide the resource processes, address resource issues and prepare reports.
- Uses analytical skills and quantitative methods to study new salary structures for the Archdiocese of Washington's schools workforce.
- Coordinates, analyzes, and manages the tuition assistance/scholarship programs.
- Prepares check request for Archdiocese student scholarship awards for each school.
- Reviews existing policies and proposes new policies/procedures pertaining to Archdiocese tuition assistance.
- Manages and oversees the efforts to evaluate students' financial need for scholarships, distributes awards, train and support efforts of families to apply for scholarship funds.
- Creates high school and elementary school reports on tuition assistance and scholarship. .
- Prepares reports on year-to-year tuition increases and trends by region.
- Prepares inventory of all Title funds due to the Catholic Schools.
- Shares in review of Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools' policies and regulations relating to budgeting, funding and development resources.
- Prepares analyses with the Finance Office of the budgets for all our schools to show average tuition rates, tuition costs per child, surpluses or deficits.
