Position Description:
The Catholic Diocese of Arlington's Office of Youth Ministry is looking for four summer interns to work on a full-time basis, from the last week in May (Monday, May 24, 2010) through the second week of August (Friday, August 13, 2010). They will be assisting with the preparations and operations of two, week-long WorkCamps.
Qualifications:
- Must be working towards a Bachelor's Degree
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle
- Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends as well as extended hours during the weeks of WorkCamp
- Must have strong computer skills, including the ability to create and manage databases (proficiency in Excel required)
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have knowledge of the mission of the Office of Youth Ministry as well as the desire and ability to promote the mission and the faith
- Must be able to lift medium to heavy weight of 75-100 lbs
- Must be willing and able to perform work in cramped, uncomfortable spaces (attics, crawl spaces, utility closets, etc.) for extended periods of time during WorkCamp
- Prior experience with parish youth ministry programs a plus
