POSITION TITLE: Natural Family Planning Coordinator / Assistant Marriage Preparation Coordinator
POSITION CONCEPT:
The Natural Family Planning Coordinator works in conjunction with the Family Life/ Respect Life Office staff to promote Natural Family Planning and to recruit and support NFP teachers. The coordinator also works with the Marriage Preparation Coordinator to recruit and train new presenting couples and is available to present at Marriage Preparation sessions.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Under the supervision of the Director to coordinate the Archdiocesan Natural Family Planning Program. This entails: organizing teacher training sessions for various model of NFP, coordinating class scheduling throughout the archdiocese, and promoting NFP in the parishes, among clergy and healthcare professionals.
2. Coordinates NFP presentations at Marriage Preparation classes.
3. Assists the Marriage Preparation Coordinator
4. Plans and organizes various educational events throughout the archdiocese pertaining to marriage and family life issues, and days of enrichment for volunteers working in our marriage preparation program and NFP program.
5. Develops ongoing promotional materials in order to promote the NFP way of life and the Church's understanding of marriage and family life.
POSTION REQUIREMENTS:
Masters Degree preferred, a good knowledge of Church teaching on issues regarding marriage and family, the theology of the body, natural family planning and pro-life issues. Some familiarity with the various methods of NFP, an acceptance of the NFP lifestyle and desire to promote it throughout the archdiocese required. Some studies in marriage and family life or previous experience necessary.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a BIG plus.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, to initiate and follow through with projects, to teach and to motivate others. Public speaking ability. Must be willing and able to support the Office's mission for family life and respect for all human life.
