Development Associate

Direct Supervisor: Executive Director of the Alfred E. Smith Foundation

Primary Responsibility: Support the Executive Director to ensure the maximum success of the Alfred E. Smith Foundation Dinner and all Archdiocesan Special Events.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Oversee processing of all contributions and acknowledgements
· Work in Raiser's Edge to produce, track and edit gift reports as needed
· Write all solicitation and acknowledgement letters
· Update Raiser's Edge with all donor and prospect information
· Prepare invitations and reply devices for events and solicitations
· Coordinate with Data Center for prompt entry of gifts and pledges
· Compile and organize ads for event journals and finalize details with the printer
· Prepare materials for all Board Meetings
· Maintain personnel files
· Assist in special projects as needed

Position Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree

· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

· A solid working knowledge of Raiser's Edge

· Desire to work in a small, fast-paced environment with other dedicated team members.

· Interest in fundraising and special events

· Exceptional communication skills, with special emphasis on writing ability.

Standards of Performance:

· Complete all data processing accurately within a 48-hour timeframe

· Maintaining professional, confidential, and excellent communication with donors and board members

· Ability to take initiative and see a project through completion by working independently and creatively
