The Pines Catholic Camp located in the heart of the East Texas piney woods is seeking individuals to comprise its Ministry Staff for the 2008-2009 retreat season. We are seeking faith-filled individuals with a desire to foster in young people a greater awareness of Christ in their lives and their place in the Church and the world. The Ministry Staff experience at The Pines Catholic Camp includes living in a faith community while working together to create and implement faith based retreats and programs that encourage young people to better understand themselves and God's love through and in our environment. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Leading Confirmation, Awakening and other faith enriching retreats as well as teaching Environmental Education - experiential education program designed for upper elementary students to have hands-on activities in nature. Candidates should have a positive relationship with the Catholic Church, an associate's degree or equivalent experience (bachelor degree preferred), a desire to share one's faith with others and a strong environmental ethic. Ministry staff members receive room and board, $900/month compensation, benefit package, opportunities for spiritual growth. Positions are available in late August as well as beginning in January and run until May 18, 2009 with the possibility of working the summer as well.
