JOB DETAILS
Fulltime position to teach 0.5 time religion and 0.5 time campus ministry. Religion will be taught to sophomore age students with a focus on the scriptures. Other duties and qualifications include:
-Coordinate all campus ministry activities by working closely with school chaplain and other campus ministry team members
-Coordinate the major activities, including but not limited to: retreats, prayer services, liturgies, vocation awareness, justice and peace concerns
-Assist building principal in evaluating the school's religion program
-Function as a religious resource person for staff, under direction of the principal
-Raise awareness and encourage action regarding contemporary moral and social issues
-Update self regularly for professional growth/religious certification
-Maintain professional relations with students, staff, parents, public
-Offer a daily prayer
-Attend diocesan campus ministry workshops; attend retreats and other campus ministry student functions as necessary
-Stay organized in campus ministry business matters, plan and stay within a campus ministry budget
-Help keep emphasis on spiritual growth of students and faculty
-Coordinate, with others, all aspects of one freshman retreat and one sophomore retreat per year; also ready the juniors to attend the annual diocesan Junior Rally, and coordinate the out of building senior retreat
-Help coordinate, if necessary, annual system retreat
-Coordinate all activities for campus ministry by actively involving faculty in different events on a rotating basis
-Help coordinate Pacelli students to become retreat leaders
-Substitute for religion department members depending on need and availability
-Perform all other duties as necessary to the position and as specified by the building principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Advanced degree in Catholic religious studies or equivalent
-Valid teaching certificate
-Experience in teaching religion
-Possesses good communication skills
-Possesses or willing to work to possess an Advanced Religious Education Certification for the Diocese of LaCrosse
-Is a good Catholic Christian model and example in attitudes and actions
-Cooperation with chaplain, religion department members, and high school faculty in bringing a team approach of ministry to students
-Cooperation with other SPACS staff members as well as area pastors, pastoral administrators, and DREs
-Morally grounded; willing to publicly uphold Catholic Church teaching
-Creative, cooperative, friendly
-Respects confidentiality inherent to position
-Loyal to school/system/diocese
