JOB DETAILS
St. Therese Church and elementary school is seeking a full-time DRE to direct all aspects of catechetical and sacramental preparation for children, from preschool through 8th grade, teenagers, and adults, age 18 and above.
Role:
The Director of Religious Education is responsible to and reports to the Pastor. This position coordinates, implements, supervises and evaluates the religious education program for all grades from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, SRE, RCIA, teenage and adult confirmation.
Responsibilities include developing and administering a curriculum for the above programs; recruiting and training catechists and volunteers; directing sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation; as well as planning and organizing related programs for the parish as a whole.
The DRE will work closely with the pastoral staff, Pastor, School Principal, Youth Minister, Liturgy Director, catechists, and members of the parish to meet the religious educational needs of the parish.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with Rome, with a strong commitment to the philosophy of total Catholic education and spiritual formation. Bachelor's Degree (Masters Preferred) in Religious Education, Theology, or equivalent. Experience in administration and teaching of Catholic doctrine. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential and an ability to work in a team environment without compromising Catholic doctrinal truths.
