JOB DETAILS
Holy Spirit Catholic Community is seeking a full-time Catechist who will help to create a dynamic bi-lingual program centered on Catholic Traditions in Southwestern Wyoming. Holy Spirit Catholic Community, is located in Rock Springs, WY, 180 miles east of Salt Lake City, UT and 160 miles south of Jackson Hole, WY. We are a parish of over 1650 families and growing. The parish has a strong Religious Education program and tremendous parish support.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain bi-lingual catechetical programs.
Maintain and assist with sacramental preparation programs specifically First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Develop summer vacation bible school program for children K-6.
Assist in conducting the RCIA and RCIC process.
Develop and maintain catechetical programs for adults and intergenerational events.
Organize periodical spiritual enrichment and community building events (Children's Nativity, living Stations of the Cross, etc.).
Recruit and train volunteer catechists to conduct the parish's catechetical program.
Provide in-service training for volunteers in basic theology, the method of catechesis, and in the use of the materials to be employed in their teaching.
Work closely with parish youth minister to ensure the success of total parish catecheses.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors/Master's degree in religious education or related field (theology, education) or willingness to obtain degree.
Experience working or volunteering in a Catholic Church.
Strong leadership and administration skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Computer skills.
Bi-lingual preferred or willing to learn basic Spanish.
