Job Description
General Function:
As a Servant Leadership Team (SaLT) Missionary you will plan, prepare, and lead Confirmation, team building, and leadership retreats for groups from churches and schools in the Diocese of Madison and beyond. Missionaries also facilitate groups participating in the Environmental Stewardship Program and are truly the front-lines of our mission here at camp during the school year. We also invite Missionaries to join us as part of our staff for the summer camp season, June through August. Be sure to check out this video about Camp Gray and our year-round programs:

Requirements:
The SaLT Missionary must be at least 19 years of age and a high school graduate. College-level education is preferred, and a college degree is desired. Experience or training in working with children is essential. It is very important that the missionary is a person of integrity who is able to serve as a positive role model to youth. To properly support the mission and values of the camp, she/he must be a person of strong personal faith, with a positive relationship with the Catholic Church. As part of the staff faith community, the missionary must be committed to her/his own faith growth, as well has have a willingness to share his/her faith story.
Because each staff member lives and works closely with the members of the camp community, it is important that they be able to collaborate with others, communicate clearly and honestly, and be willing to contribute as community needs change. The incumbent must be, or be willing to be certified in CPR and First Aid, and must have an awareness of the need to care for the environment.
SaLT missionaries receive room and board, $300/month stipend, health insurance and opportunities for spiritual growth. Positions are available for 2012-2013.
Principal Activities:
- Lead Confirmation, team building, and leadership retreats for groups from churches and schools in the Diocese of Madison and beyond.
- Facilitate groups participating in the Environmental Stewardship Program, including:
*Teach classes to program participants
*Prepare for classes and activities, including the development of new activities
*Lead an afternoon "choice" activity
*Participate in planning, preparing, and leading all-camp activities (morning praise, games, etc.)
- Facilitate small groups on the Low Adventure Course
- Participate in the facilitation of retreat programs
- Participate in the evaluation of programs
- After camper departure, participate in the cleaning of common areas
- Assist with other tasks and projects, as requested by the Camp Director or Assistant Director
- Participate in daily staff prayer time
- Attend staff meetings
- Play with campers!!
