JOB DETAILS
The Associate Director for Faculty Development will direct instructional and professional development programming University-wide for faculty and teaching assistants through the Center for Teaching Excellence, create new instructional services targeting adjunct faculty members, and assist the director of the Office of Service-Learning in providing faculty development programming and resources. This will be a split appointment reporting 85% to the director of the Center for Teaching Excellence and 15% to the director of the Office of Service-Learning.
Candidates must have a doctorate, successful university teaching experience, and 2-3 years experience in providing faculty and/or TA development. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of teaching and learning research in higher education; the ability to consult across a wide range of academic disciplines and course levels; familiarity with service-learning pedagogy; an appreciation for multiculturalism and inclusive teaching practices; excellent oral presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and small group skills; strong writing and editing capabilities; and the ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
