St. Cecilia Academy is now accepting applications for director of library services, an integral position which manages all library functions in the school as well as coordinating the use of technology on campus.

The director of library services manages all library functions including selection, acquisition, organization and utilization of print and electronic resources; assist students and faculty with research assignments (including online research); catalog and inventory books and A/V materials; collaborate with faculty in ordering materials to support curriculum, monitor student behavior in the library; administer budget. Additional duties include coordinating the use of technology on the St. Cecilia Academy campus; maintaining and updating the school's Web site; helping faculty and students become comfortable with technology by being available to assist them.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred
- At least 5 years experience in managing high school libraries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Follett Library Software. Additional skills in Microsoft Access and Publisher, Dreamweaver, HTML, Flash and Photoshop are also preferred.

St. Cecilia Academy is Nashville's oldest private high school, founded in 1860 by the Dominican Sisters of the St. Cecilia Congregation. Fifty-nine seniors graduate from St. Cecilia Academy in 2008 with $5.9 million in scholarships to colleges from coast to coast. The Class of 2008 earned an average of $100,000 in scholarships per student, the highest average per student in St. Cecilia Academy's 148-year history. In addition, five seniors from the Class of 2008 were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program as finalists and commendees.
