JOB DETAILS
The Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky is accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The Superintendent will be accountable to the Bishop and report to the Secretary for Pastoral Life. Ideal candidates will provide leadership and vision in the areas of Catholic identity, curriculum and school instructional leadership. In addition, the candidate should:
* demonstrate organization, management and
interpersonal skills required to develop and
sustain a quality education program.
* possess a strong record of effectiveness as a
Catholic school educator and/or administrator
* hold an advanced degree in education and
professional credentials in educational
administration
* have experience as a Catholic school
principal, with five years preferred, and
appropriate state certification
* be able to lead collaborative efforts to
ensure and enhance the Catholic identity,
educational effectiveness, growth and future
viability of Catholic schools in the Diocese
of Lexington
* demonstrate effective writing and speaking
skills
* work collaboratively with diverse groups of
people
The Diocese of Lexington is a mission diocese covering fifty counties in central and eastern Kentucky. There are fourteen Catholic elementary
schools, one Catholic high school and two private schools operated by religious orders in the Diocese, with a total approximate enrollment of 4,000 students. Diocesan offices are located in Lexington. The individual selected for this position must be knowledgeable of and faithful to the tenets of the Roman Catholic faith, and be a fully participating and practicing Catholic.
