JOB DETAILS
Duquesne University seeks an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational and administrative skills, and the desire to make a difference to serve as a Catholic Campus Minister. This is a full-time, 12-month position within Spiritan Campus Ministry (SCM) at Duquesne University. *Flexible work schedule will include evening and weekend hours. Illustrative Examples of Work:
1. Develops and implements SCM's ministry with freshmen.
2. Participates in the facilitation of the RCIA and other faith-sharing groups.
3. Participates in and facilitates outreach and cross-cultural experiences.
4. Assists with retreat planning and development.
5. Provides pastoral counseling as needed.
6. Performs related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will be Catholic and will have earned a Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or related field; and will have a minimum of three years' ministry experience in a diverse college/university environment or any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: demonstrable ministry style in the spirit of Vatican II and the ability to participate in a dynamic, collaborative style of ministry within the context of an ethnically and religiously diverse university community; a strong work ethic; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; an ability to lead spiritual reflection; ability to multi-task; ability to work proactively to achieve the objectives of SCM and the University; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community. Bilingual skills and diversity are pluses. Applicants must also be willing to contribute actively to the University Mission and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
