JOB DETAILS
The Diocese of Orange is seeking a qualified and experienced educational leader who is deeply committed to furthering the development of the faith life and high academic excellence in St. Catherine of Siena Parish School. After a rich 50 year history in the beautiful seaside location of Laguna Beach, a new facility is projected to commence construction beginning June 2008 with a 15 month construction period. St. Catherine's is a kindergarten through eighth grade school with single classrooms overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
DESCRIPTION:
. Responsible for the supervision, administration, and organization of an elementary school with a current 200 student enrollment ultimately increasing to 315 students.
. Demonstrates the Catholic educational vision and directs its accomplishments while integrating Gospel values and Christian social principles into the curriculum and the life of the school. Understands that we are all (students, faculty, parents) here to develop ourselves for God.
. Provides superior professional and instructional leadership and supervision of staff. Will evaluate and motivate faculty/staff and ensure that positions are filled appropriately. Instructional leadership includes the assessment and potential adoption of innovative educational programs/trends.
. Responsible for the complete operation of the school, including all long range strategic planning and development activities.
. Knows and can apply group dynamics, conflict management, problem solving and other organizational development skills while maintaining a warm atmosphere in this small parish school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
. Is a practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to and working knowledge of the Catholic faith.
. Demonstrates and can execute a clear vision for the future of Catholic education.
. Possesses a Master's Degree and/or credential in school administration with a minimum of three years of administrative or other related experience. An additional stipend is provided for a doctorate.
. Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal, collaborative, organizational and administrative skills.
. Demonstrates ability to relate openly and collaboratively with all members of the parish, school and local communities, including the other Catholic, private and public schools in the area.
. Successful prior experience in school development(fund raising & advancement) and enrollment management(outreach, recruitment, retention).
