Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is seeking an experienced, highly motivated individual to fill their Major Gifts Director position. Under the leadership of their Chief Development Officer, the Major Gifts Director will work with the Development team, the Executive Board, and the Academy President to prepare and launch a major capital campaign. The Director will be responsible for the management of all designated leadership giving initiatives.
As a senior member of the Development team, the Major Gifts Director will cultivate and solicit a personal portfolio of 100-150 prospects with the aim of securing both outright and deferred leadership gifts in the 5-6-7 figures range.
The Major Gifts Director will manage the foundation relations program, direct the research pipeline for new prospects across all constituencies, create and present major gifts proposals using outright and deferred giving strategies, assist in planning, marketing, and implementing donor-centered special events.
Requirements:
-Comprehensive campaign experience
-Experience soliciting and closing major gifts in a secondary school or university setting (major gifts defined as gifts in the 5, 6, and 7 figures range)
-Skill at building donor relationships for both short term and long term giving
-Creativity, ability to think "outside the box" along with strong planning and communication skills
-Ability to be a team player; positive attitude; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; excellent track record of collaboration with volunteers and trustees
-A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years development experience. Master's degree a plus
-Ability to travel as well as to work evenings and weekends visiting prospects and staffing regional events
-Experience with development information systems, Blackbaud desirable
-Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
