JOB DETAILS
Seeking: Mature, qualified adult - minimum 25 years of age - practicing catholic of Vatican II spirituality for role as Coordinator of Youth Ministry (part time position / 20 hours weekly, see additional role below) to work in conjunction with Director of Youth Ministry for the mission Diocese of Reno. This individual should be a vibrant, self-directed leader with experience in Youth Ministry and Catechetics who can align personal passion with diocesan vision of growth and ministry. Qualifications include: MA in Pastoral Studies with Youth Ministry specialization or Religious Education or comparable, at least 5 years experience working with teens in a leadership/youth ministry capacity, experience with Adolescent Catechetical processes, Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies from Center for Ministry Development. Collaborative work to include, but not limited to: ongoing formation and leadership development of parish youth ministers and diocesan youth council, regular on-site parish visitations, Grant writing, coordinating annual diocesan youth events, exploring connections to young adult ministry, warm collaboration with parish leadership. Diocese could assist with search for possibilities of supplementary income through parish collaboration. Salary: $20,000 annually.
The balance of this position will be accomplished through ministry as a part-time parish youth minister in a warm, local parish collaborating with a dedicated group of individuals. Ability to converse in Spanish will be a bonus. Parish will pay $20,000.
