Established in 1832, Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary - a free standing seminary of the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia offering a B.A. in Philosophy, a Pre-Theology curriculum, and an M. Div. and M.A. in Theology - currently seeks to hire a General Classicist to be an Assistant Professor of Biblical Greek, Ecclesiastical Latin and Humanities beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year.
The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load of undergraduate courses in the College Division. The successful candidate will possess professional academic training and preparation in areas of Ecclesiastical Latin and Biblical Greek and can exhibit dedicated excellence and experience of teaching within the fields indicated. A Ph.D. in Classics or a related field is required (ABD will be considered).
The successful candidate is ideally a practicing Catholic and can demonstrate a mandatory commitment to the mission of a Catholic institution of higher learning, with an informed desire to participate in the intellectual formation of seminarians toward the priesthood.
