Position Title: Database Administrator
Position reports to: Executive Director, Institutional Advancement
Position Description
The major function of the Database Administrator is to ensure that the Raiser's Edge Database directly supports the fundraising strategies and operations of the North American College. The Database Administrator will provide particular support for the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, but also for the Board of Governors, Advancement Council and other staff members of the office as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Maintain accurate, appropriate records in Raiser's Edge for all donations, including pledges to the capital campaign, direct mail, and special events.
On a daily basis, process incoming gifts and pledge payments from all sources (direct mail, lockbox, credit cards, electronic withdrawals, stock transfers) and update donor information
Prepare transmittals and other reports as needed for accounting/business offices
Analyze data and produce financial and statistical reports in a timely manner, as needed.
Produce donation receipt and donor tax letters, as well as send timely reminders to campaign donors for pledge payments
Coordinate data sharing between Advancement Office and business office in Rome
Keep current with Blackbaud updates and provide training and usage assistance to other staff members
Maintain accurate hard copy files of donor documents, as needed
Provide support for and participate in special events, as needed
Handle other office duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Catholic Church structure and hierarchy
Well organized, excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize while handling several projects simultaneously
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; several years' experience in a not-for-profit fundraising environment strongly preferred
Solid past experience with Raiser's Edge and fluent proficiency with email, Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact with donors and build productive working relationship in a team environment to achieve our goals and objectives
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive communications
Ability to follow established policies and procedures
Ability to collaborate with peers, colleagues and others to achieve our goals and objectives
