JOB DETAILS
MTCYR is seeking a counselor to help address all areas of an adolescent's life by addressing character development, emotional healing, social maturity, spiritual growth, and recovery from addiction. Counseling should incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy that helps the teen to learn stress coping techniques that are positive and discourage addictive behavior. Family counseling services are also to be included to help a family experience healing and learn coping strategies when dealing with a loved one who is suffering with difficulties brought about by substance abuse or other types of destructive behavior. Some of the behaviors to be addressed through counseling at MTCYR include: rebellious and destructive behavior, signs of depression, self-mutilation, immoral behavior,porn addictions, lack of motivation, aggressive behavior, lack of interest in school, and any other type of change in behavior that is different from the norm.
We are looking for a counselor who will not teach that addiction is a disease but rather a choice that is a bad habit, and who will give students the tools and help they need to change their habits into positive ones.
