The University of Notre Dame Law School (http://law.nd.edu/) is accepting applications for a Senior Technical Consultant to join the IT team in support of a vibrant teaching, learning and research community. This position is responsible for all aspects of system analysis, design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the network servers and client systems that support the Notre Dame Law School. This may include but is not limited to the research and development of departmental information systems, Database Servers, Video Distribution Servers, Active Directory Management, Domain Administration, Information Security, and Disaster Recovery Systems. Client support includes Windows and Apple operating systems as well as mobile clients.
This position develops and promotes standard operating procedures and conducts routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established security and configuration standards. Assists the Director of Law School Technology with the planning and implementation of computing in the Law School and is responsible to respond to the computing needs of all faculty, staff and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant study/experience required.
- Minimum 5 years working as technical support to users in a complex and fast-paced environment (preferably in academia)
- Strong working knowledge of current PC and Apple personal hardware and operating systems.
- Strong knowledge and support skill level in multiple commonplace application software products.
- Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, technical information to people with various levels of technical expertise.
- Ability to participate in strategic planning for the Law School.
- Strong knowledge of server and workstation computing security issues, requirements and trends.
- MCSE and up to date certifications on Windows Server & Active Directory are preferred.
