Catholic Online (www.catholic.org) is currently rolling out local editions of its International online presence in the major metropolitan areas of the country. These editions will provide local news and events of interest to Catholics in each area.
In addition, these local editions are offering every parish the opportunity to take their information online at no cost with instantaneous updating capability and other features through a Digital Parish Bulletin (DPB).
Catholic Online Virginia Edition is now recruiting and training individuals in Northern Virginia to serve as Parish Ambassadors who will assist their parish or other parishes in adding content to their DPB. Positions are part-time and hours are flexible. We are estimating that each DPB will require 3-4 hours of work per week and Ambassadors will be allowed to serve up to four parishes if they so choose.
Candidates must be computer literate, Internet saavy, self-organized, with the ability to write, edit and upload content. The Parish Ambassador will also assist in the roll-out and adoption of the DPB with the local parish.
Undergraduate degree is preferred but not necessary. Background check, references and an interview will be required. Candidates must be comfortable working in the Catholic community and have wireless-enabled laptop and an air card.
