The Press is a leading publisher of books as well as educational programs and materials for parish renewal. In its 143rd year, the Press is continuing to transform itself to better fulfill its mission in the changing world of publishing and media.
Paulist Press seeks a Chief Operating Officer to collaborate with the Publisher in supporting the mission and vision and executing the business plan. Reporting to the Publisher and the Press Board of Directors, the COO has P&L responsibility and ensures the organizational capability and development of tangible and intangible assets.
This role requires skill and experience in the publishing/media business, product development, various media channels, the competitive landscape and revenue management dynamics. Also required is the ability to identify and build new revenue streams in support of the mission. The COO must be a dynamic leader able to lead change and cultural transformation, build effective teams, and sustain relationships with the board and customers. This role requires experience in managing the cost side of the business including warehouse management, distribution, production, and facilities, as well as analyzing financial statements and drawing inferences to assist in strategic planning.
