Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is a Catholic, Dominican college preparatory school whose mission is to educate young women for a life of faith, integrity and truth. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction who is committed to the principles of Catholic education. This position is open for the 2010-2011 school year.
The Assistant Principal will supervise the academic program under the direction of the Principal. S/he will work with and coordinate the efforts of the academic departments. S/he will lead curriculum development, provide mentoring and support to teachers, be responsible for teacher evaluations, and promote professional growth opportunities, among other responsibilities.

Requirements:
- 3+ years' successful experience as a high school administrator with expertise in curriculum development, preferably in an independent high school.
- 5+ years' high school classroom teaching experience.
- An advanced degree in the field of educational leadership and/or school administration.
- Dynamic leadership ability as well as proven teambuilding skills, ability to inspire a dedicated faculty.
- Skill in program and faculty development and evaluation with a demonstrated capacity for innovation.
- Experience with academic and administrative technology strongly desired.
- Excellent people skills, bringing the maturity necessary to deal with the demands and administrative responsibilities of the position.
- Strong organization and management skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Outstanding communication skills -- ability to build positive working relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students and parents.
- Knowledge of current trends in independent education and curriculum development. Experience with student-centered learning and an understanding of how to foster a community of learners desired.
