Music Teacher, Full-Time or Part-Time

Job Description

St. Mary's Catholic School in Worthington, Minnesota is now accepting applications for a part time music teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position can be combined with part time director of liturgy at our sponsoring parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church creating full time employment. Working on a team, the successful candidate is an educational and spiritual leader who encourages excellence in all students. The music teacher will provide classroom general music instruction for K-8th grade students. This position is also responsible for planning two performances - Christmas and Spring. This position is also responsible for teaching, mentoring, and modeling the Catholic faith.
St. Mary's Catholic School is a strong PreK - 8 Catholic school focused on faith, academics, and family. The school has served Worthington and surrounding communities for nearly 75 years. There are exciting new projects underway to connect student learning with the real-world. The school is a mission of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and therefore maintains a strong relationship with the parish and the parishioners. Active parent involvement creates and supports a strong community base for the school.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree in elementary education and/or secondary education, or music education, with a valid teaching license from the State of Minnesota.
• Alternatively: BA/BS degree in music or fine arts with demonstrated experience instructing youth and/or adolescents
• Be willing to support and uphold the teaching of the Catholic faith

• possess music proficiencies, knowledge, and expertise

• Pass required background check.
• Complete VIRTUS training.
