The Chairman of the Board of the National Council of the Knights of Peter Claver seeks a dynamic and experienced Catholic leader to serve as Executive Director not only to advance the mission and agenda of the Order, but also to direct the activities of the National Office and administer the business of the six major divisions of the Order. This person must be eligible to join the Knights of Peter Claver.
RESPONSIBILITIES. The Executive Director serves as the chief operating officer of the Order, working closely with the Supreme Knight, Supreme Lady, and Executive Committee, and reporting to the National Council Board of Directors. The Executive Director directs and administers all programs, operations, and policies in addition to supervising the National Office staff.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
Provide leadership in developing program, organizational, and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the board.
Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, local and National Association Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) regulations.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the organization.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the insurance industry
Develops and maintains sound financial practices, ensuring that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work to include but not limited to:
Budgeting and forecasting of income and expenses
* Cost control
* Cash flow management
* Plan and manage conventions to include site selections, bidding, contract negotiations and the execution of the program.
Timely production of The Claverite (the official organ of the organization).
Ensure the Board is kept fully informed on the condition of the Order and all important factors and potential risks influencing its operation.

Exhibit the ability to effectively communicate with the hierarchy of the Catholic Church and understand ecclesiastical structure and protocol
Possess the ability to attract, retain, and motivate a skilled staff
Must possess business ethics and have high moral character
Impartial decision making in the best interest of the Order
Must have the ability to lead and manage contractor responsibilities
Must be an effective project manager with a history of meeting deadlines
Proven time management skills
Proven skills in personnel, business, and financial management
Proven ability to implement positive change in the Order
DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Recent relevant experience in business, insurance industry, and/or non-profit management at the director level or above
Minimum of five years of experience in management, planning and financial oversight
Minimum of five years of experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, performance management, and benefits administration
Minimum of five years of experience working with a board of directors or similar hierarchy
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
