Associate Superintendent for Operations

Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond, VA seeks a highly qualified, innovative and strategic leader for the position of Associate Superintendent for Operations, Office of Catholic Schools. The Associate Superintendent will monitor and oversee the implementation of documented policies and procedures for 23 Catholic Schools serving over 8,000 students, located throughout the state of Virginia.
The Associate Superintendent will work with the Superintendent to monitor and support a variety of school operations including supporting and mentoring principals. The Associate Superintendent collaborates with the Director of Finance and the Director of Human Resources in the areas of school finance and human resources, and serves as the liaison with the State Department of Education and the Virginia Council for Private Education.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in Catholic school operations, understand effective teaching strategies, and should understand state and federal law as it applies to Catholic Schools. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. Must possess a Master's Degree in Education or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of administrative experience, preferably at the Diocesan level. A practicing Catholic in good standing is required, as well as an understanding of the Catholic Church at parish, diocesan and national levels.
