DESCRIPTION: Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Development Director creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which may include major gifts, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources. A new position in the organization, the Development Director will have the opportunity to build the development function.
-Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop and execute GCCM's fundraising plan
-Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and other institutions
-Manage the implementation of the chosen development software and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
-Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
-Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
-Oversee the organization of special events
-Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation fundraising
-Minimum 3 years of development/fundraising experience, with some experience in team/supervision management
-Demonstrated record of success in meeting fundraising goals for organizations
-Demonstrated knowledge of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and techniques for institutional and individual funders
-Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills, to include: experience speaking to and writing for donors and crafting compelling funding proposals and pitch materials
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Working knowledge of donor databases
-Bachelor's Degree in related field
-Preferred background in environmental issues and working in a faith-based environment
LOCATION: This position can be done remotely. Candidate must possess their own computer and have access to reliable internet.
