We seek a Digital Media Coordinator to support GCCM's global campaigns through successful digital strategies. This position will handle all graphic design, video, web design and social media.
Graphic Design: Executes design strategies for global campaigns, website, social media, and other communications. This includes fliers, posters, banners, ads, brochures, logos, signage, display materials, and other materials for GCCM activities. Ability to shoot and edit video from events or for promotional materials is a major plus.
Social Media Management: Responsible for daily posts/tweets to all applicable social media outlets and web platforms. Creates engaging content (copy, images and videos; in English) for our Catholic audience. Coordinates the social media marketing calendar with online activity, tracking social media influence measurements, and continuous monitoring and coverage of all sites.
Web Manager: Updating and managing content on GCCM's website and other campaign websites (WordPress platform).
-College or Technical Degree
-Minimum 3 years hands-on experience
-Portfolio demonstrating graphic design work experience in print and online materials (preferably in English)
-Strong typography and layout skills across a variety of platforms, such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro
-Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube
-Proficiency with English copywriting for social media
-Proficiency with managing WordPress websites, with preferred experience designing templates from scratch as well as modifying existing templates.
-Preferred experience with HTMLX, CSS and basic web programming
-A passion for the environment, preferably familiar with the Pope's Laudato Si encyclical
-Attention to detail (incl. spelling, grammar, internal consistency)
-Ability to self direct and take initiative
-Ability to work independently and with a team
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging to Catholic audiences
-Adaptable, flexible and can work under pressure and tight deadlines
POSITION TYPE: Full-time permanent position
START DATE: January 2017
LOCATION: This position can be done remotely. Candidate must possess their own computer and have access to reliable internet.
