Many say it-few actually do it.
At Newman Ministry, we believe faith is meant to be shared and lived in community.
Through Newman Connection, Called, and Newman Student Housing, we help students stay connected to their Catholic faith, empower ministry leaders with technology to grow disciples, and create inspired living communities on campuses nationwide.
We're also leading the Faith Forward Movement-a national initiative rallying parishes, schools, and families to keep Catholic students connected as they transition from high school to college. Our work bridges digital and physical connection, blending technology, storytelling, and live experiences to spark renewal across the Church.
What You'll Do:
The Director of Outreach & Partnerships is the senior leader responsible for Newman Connection's diocesan outreach and engagement within the Faith Forward movement.
This role leads a national diocesan outreach function that is relational, scalable, and mission-driven. It owns the quality, consistency, and outcomes of diocesan-facing outreach while operating in close partnership with Programs Leadership and Executive Leadership on movement priorities and North Star goals.
The Director is an active outreach leader who personally stewards priority diocesan relationships, develops and leads an outreach team, and intervenes directly in outreach when deeper trust, alignment, or clarity is required.
While this role owns Newman Connection's diocesan outreach execution, it operates within a collaborative leadership model. Program strategy and North Star objectives are shaped jointly with Programs Leadership and Executive Leadership, and outreach execution is strengthened through partnership with Called, Development, Marketing, and Campus Ministry Partnerships.
This role exists to cultivate diocesan trust, activate ambassador pathways, and ensure Faith Forward is adopted with clarity, integrity, and long-term commitment.
Location: Remote, with regular travel to events, customers, partners, conferences, and trade shows.
Reports To: COO
Core Purpose:
To lead a relational diocesan outreach function that cultivates trusted partnerships, activates ambassador pathways, and advances Faith Forward in alignment with Newman Connection's North Star objectives.
Diocesan Partnership Leadership
Design and lead the diocesan engagement and activation framework for Faith Forward.
Personally steward relationships with priority diocesan partners.
Lead diocesan discovery conversations centered on alignment, trust, and mission clarity.
Build sustained relationships across diocesan offices including Evangelization, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and Catholic Schools.
Ensure dioceses experience Newman Connection as a long-term partner rather than a transactional vendor.
Scaled Outreach and Cross-Functional Partnership
Own Newman Connection's diocesan outreach outcomes while partnering with Called to extend execution capacity.
Align outreach narratives, discovery frameworks, and activation pathways with Called and Programs Leadership.
Ensure outreach at scale remains relational, pastoral, and mission-aligned.
Serve as an escalation leader when deeper trust or alignment is required.
Collaborate with internal teams on outreach workflows and systems without owning day-to-day CRM administration.
Ambassador Activation Through Dioceses
Collaborate with diocesan leaders to identify and activate Faith Forward ambassadors.
Ensure ambassador pathways flow through diocesan trust and relational alignment.
Align ambassador expectations with training and formation standards in partnership with Strategic Programs.
Monitor ambassador engagement and provide feedback to strengthen retention and impact.
Faith Forward Rollout and Activation
Lead diocesan activation following Faith Forward webinars and launch moments.
Ensure clear next steps and sustained engagement after initial commitment.
Maintain relational continuity across all phases of diocesan adoption.
Coordinate rollout execution with Programs Leadership, Marketing, and Called.
Campus Ministry Partnership Alignment
Support alignment between dioceses and campus ministry partners.
Ensure campus ministries understand Faith Forward's purpose beyond data transfer.
Strengthen the pathway from student connection to belonging and engagement.
Surface partnership insights and risks to internal leadership.
Relational Outreach Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and scale an outreach team focused on relational, mission-first engagement.
Equip outreach staff to support Faith Forward activation and donor stewardship outreach in coordination with Development leadership.
Align posture, timing, and messaging with Development.
Maintain clear boundaries between relational stewardship and fundraising strategy.
Protect a gratitude-centered, non-transactional outreach culture.
Field Intelligence and Strategic Feedback
Serve as the primary voice of diocesan partners internally.
Provide structured insights to Programs, Called, Marketing, Development, and Executive Leadership.
Help protect Faith Forward from misalignment, dilution, or premature scaling.
Success Metrics
Dioceses moving from exploration to committed participation.
Outreach to secure new Diocesan Endorsements.
Activation of ambassador pathways through diocesan partnerships.
Retention and long-term engagement of diocesan partners.
Effective progression from discovery to activation.
Student connections by name with meaningful follow-through.
Ambassador engagement and retention.
Campus ministry participation and satisfaction.
Quality and consistency of diocesan relationships.
Cross-functional alignment between Newman Connection, Called, and Programs Leadership.
Why This Role Matters:
Faith Forward is not a program to be sold. It is a movement to be stewarded.
This role ensures diocesan outreach is relational and scalable, partnerships are built on trust and clarity, and Faith Forward advances through collaborative leadership rather than isolated execution.
Students are not merely counted. They are known, supported, and connected.
What You Need To Get the Job Done:

Leads with relational credibility, humility, and strategic clarity.
Thrives in long trust-building cycles.
Operates effectively in collaborative leadership environments with clear accountability.
