Job Posting: Janitor (Full-Time)

Location: In-person, Barto, PA

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm (8-hour shift)

Summary

Join our team as an essential employee responsible for keeping the Centre's facilities, buildings, and grounds exceptionally clean. This full-time position requires diligence in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety, as well as providing light, routine maintenance tasks. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties)

Clean and groom facilities, offices, classrooms, and grounds, including sweeping, moping, scrubbing, polishing, and waxing floors.

Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and minor repairs to custodial equipment and on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, building structure and hardware as instructed by the Facilities Manager.

Maintain inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies and equipment for the facility and report them to the Facilities Manager.

Assist, as directed, with the movement of furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities..

Perform or assist with snow removal and maintaining equipment.

Ensure building and ground security by locking or instructing others to lock the appropriate areas of the facility each day.

Comply with all laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste.

Coordinate with Food Service Department in planning for the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies and the proper cleaning of food service areas.

Assist visiting public using the facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or material.

Report all needed repairs so work orders can be generated, and report all personnel issues that may occur on their shift to the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

Demonstrated experience and competence in janitorial services.

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Possess the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Must possess a Valid PA Driver's License.

Successful completion of required background clearances is mandatory:

o Act 34 - Criminal History Clearance

o Act 151 - Child Abuse History Clearance

o Act 114 - Federal Criminal Background Check

Physical Demands

Candidates must be able to perform physical duties, including:

Ability to lift and/or carry materials up to 50 lbs.

Ability to sit, stand, walk or move throughout the property and buildings for extended periods of the workday.

Reaching above and below the waist.

Some stooping, bending and twisting of the body required.

Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
