Job Description

Location: Northfield, MA (New England Campus)
Department: Advancement Office
Reports to: Executive Director of Development
Employment Type: Exempt; Full Time
Compensation: $120k to $150K salary (commensurate with experience).

Position Summary
The Director of Development (East) reports to the Executive Director of Development and manages the Director of Annual Giving. The Director of Development (East) develops and implements strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward active donors and known prospects primarily in the Northeastern United States. In addition, the Director helps TAC reach its fundraising goals by soliciting gifts of $25,000 or more. Depending on experience, this position may be tasked with managing an additional major gift officer focusing on prospects in the Southeastern United States (this position is currently vacant).

Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 active and prospective donors rated with the ability to contribute $25,000 or more.
• Identify at least 12 new major gift prospects a year and develop compelling strategies to engage them in the life of the College.
• Schedule and conduct personal visits with at least 10 prospects a month.
• Raise at least $1,500,000 a year in contributions.
• Keep the Dean of TAC New England apprised of fundraising activity and engage his help in cultivating active and prospective donors for the New England campus.
• With the College's NE Special Events Manager, help plan and host cultivation events for new and prospective donors.
• Supervise the Work-Study Student in acknowledging donors, preparing marketing materials, and welcoming visitors to the NE campus.
• Supervise the NE Major Gift Officer in identifying new prospects in the Southeastern United States and in managing approximately 120 active and prospective donors.
• Prepare donor correspondence, contact reports, gift agreements, and marketing materials needed to promote, secure and document planned and major gifts.
• Able to travel regularly to meet with donors and prospects, and to attend events, which may include overnight and weekend travel.

Education
• Bachelor's degree required.

Experience
• 5+ years of fundraising experience.
