School Nurse

Job Description

Our Lady of Hope Catholic School is seeking a part-time licensed nurse (RN or LPN) for the 2026-2027 school year.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
-Conducts emergency care and first aid to students for accidents and illnesses during school hours
-Maintains detailed student health records regarding clinic visits, medical difficulties of students, screening results, physical examinations, and immunization records
-Ensures that state and local health requirements are met by students and teachers. Is knowledgeable about the contents of the Virginia School Health Guidelines
-Makes health appraisals through observation, interview, analysis of health records, and consults with administrators, faculty and parents
-Acts as a resource to faculty regarding health education
-Coordinates all health screenings (i.e., vision, hearing)
-Keeps inventory and order supplies (within the budget allotted) when needed
-Follows the Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen requirements
-Respects the confidentiality of all students, faculty and staff
-Accepts other miscellaneous duties related to health/clinic care as defined by the principal; helps with the front office as needed
-Conducts necessary faculty/staff training
