Job Description
Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as an Assistant to the Director of Religious Education (DRE). This part-time position (18 hours per week) is ideal for a practicing Catholic who is passionate about faith formation and supporting our parish community's mission. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and logistical support for our K through 8th-grade programs, sacramental preparation, and various parish events.Key Responsibilities:
Must be available on Tuesdays, 2-6:30pm for RE classes (help set up and close up school, sub as catechist or aide if needed, answer questions, facilitate Confessions, Holy Hour, May Crowning, First Penance, etc.)
-Help prepare and be present for scheduled weekend or special weekday evening events,
-Learn Parish Data Systems (PDS) Formation Office software
-Provide administrative support for sacramental preparation (Holy Communion and Confirmation)
-Other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications
-Faith: Must be a confirmed and actively practicing Catholic in good standing, with a strong knowledge of Church teachings and doctrine.
-Experience: Previous administrative experience is required, with experience in a church or non-profit setting strongly preferred.
-Skills: Excellent organizational, time-management, and written/verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook) and the ability to learn parish-specific software is necessary.
-Attributes: Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality. A flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends is required for events and class sessions.
