Job Description
The Portland Peninsula and Island Parishes are seeking a Director of Communications who is excited to create and share the good news of Jesus Christ at work and alive in our community. The Communications Director oversees communications for five parishes, ensuring that the ongoing life and mission of our community of faith is presented in a compelling, robust, and accurate way across various media types and platforms. Key responsibilities include oversight of the weekly printed bulletin, website, social media accounts, and livestreaming operations. This position also serves as the primary parish liaison in the areas of digital and print media, telecommunications and public relations. This position reports directly to the Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.Qualifications
Proficiency in and/or ability to learn Adobe Design Suite Software (Photoshop, InDesign) required. Relevant bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in web site design and maintenance, social media outreach, information technology, graphic design and copy editing preferred. The successful candidate should be a skilled writer, creative thinker, have a sharp eye for aesthetics, and enjoy connecting with other people in meaningful and collaborative ways. He or she must also be a practicing Roman Catholic who understands and enthusiastically supports the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church in word and deed.
