Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused insurance professional to join our Claims Department as a Claims Representative.

Position Overview
As a Claims Representative, you will manage property and casualty claims from initial report through final resolution. This role is responsible for verifying coverage, investigating and evaluating claims, coordinating with independent adjusters, authorizing payments and settlements, and providing outstanding service to insureds throughout the claims process.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage claims from first notice of loss through final resolution, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional handling.
• Verify coverage and evaluate claims in accordance with policy provisions and company guidelines.
• Investigate, adjust, and resolve claims directly or assign claims to independent adjusters when appropriate.
• Provide guidance to independent adjusters, review reports, and authorize settlements within established authority levels.
• Review claim documentation to ensure accurate claim evaluation and payment decisions.
• Process claim payments and maintain complete, well-documented claim files.
• Analyze claim histories and identify potential risk or coverage concerns.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and adjusters throughout the claims process.
• Adhere to departmental procedures, company policies, and claims handling guidelines.
• Respond to after-hours emergency claims situations as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support exceptional service and efficient operations.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and property and casualty claims experience.
• Property and casualty claims adjusting experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with insureds and business partners.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and make informed decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently while effectively following established procedures and guidelines.
